PUB: Word Story Editing Removes Fancy First Letters (138682)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows 3.0
This article was previously published under Q138682 SYMPTOMS
If you use the "Edit Story in Microsoft Word" command on a story that
contains Fancy First Letters, those Fancy First Letters will be removed.
CAUSE
The Word Story Editing command works as follows:
- Publisher converts the selected story to Rich Text Format (RTF).
- Publisher starts Word and passes the RTF information to it.
- When you update the story from Word, the information is converted back
to RTF and returned to Publisher.
The RTF format and Word Document format do not support the kind of text
formatting necessary to retain the Fancy First Letters.
RESOLUTION
After you finish editing the story, select the paragraph(s) that should use
Fancy First Letters. Click Fancy First Letters on the Format menu to
reapply them.
