SYMPTOMS

When you try to create Works Easy Text, you receive the following error message
Warning! The text selection is too long and will be shortened.
Works still creates the Easy Text, but information is missing.

CAUSE

Easy Text has a maximum limit of 2047 characters, including the text, spaces, carriage returns, and any objects, such as clip art or embedded spreadsheet objects. If the combined total of text and objects exceeds 2047 characters, you receive the error message.

The Easy Text entry is created, but is truncated to the maximum length of 2047 characters, and the objects are not included in the Easy Text.

MORE INFORMATION

WORKAROUND

If you are selecting text to create an Easy Text entry, and the text contains objects, the maximum allowable length for the Easy Text is shortened by one character for each object. When you create Easy Text entries by highlighting existing text, make sure that no objects are included in the highlighted selection.

If the text is still too long, create multiple Easy Text entries from it.
