OFF95: View Changes for Microsoft Excel Worksheet in Binder Lost (130970)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office for Windows 95
- Microsoft Excel for Windows 95
This article was previously published under Q130970 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Office Binder, when you change a view setting for a Microsoft
Excel worksheet in your Binder, for example if you turn off the display of
sheet tabs, when you save the Binder and then open the Binder again, the
change may not appear in the Microsoft Excel worksheet.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because some of the view changes that you make to a
Microsoft Excel worksheet are not saved when you are editing a worksheet in
the Office Binder. For example, if you turn off the vertical scroll bar in
a worksheet in a Binder, and save the Binder, when you open the Binder
again, the vertical scroll bar appears again in the Microsoft Excel
worksheet.
The following worksheet view options that appear on the View tab in the
Options dialog box in Microsoft Excel are NOT retained when you close the
Binder that contains the worksheet and open it again:
Show
Formula Bar
Window Options
Automatic Page Breaks
Horizontal Scroll Bar
Vertical Scroll Bar
Sheet Tabs
The remaining settings on the View tab are saved; namely Note Indicator,
Formulas, Gridlines (and Color), Row & Column Headers, Outline Symbols, and
Zero Values.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
