SYMPTOMS

When you use the Freeze Titles command to freeze only the top rows of a Spreadsheet, without any columns, pressing CTRL+PAGE DOWN moves the highlight to the right as expected. However, the screen does not scroll or redraw to show the highlighted cell at the new location.

RESOLUTION

Do the following:
  1. After pressing CTRL+PAGE DOWN, press the LEFT ARROW key to move the highlight one cell, and then use the RIGHT ARROW key as necessary. The screen will redraw. -or-

  2. Include at least one column when you use Freeze Titles.

MORE INFORMATION

The key combination CTRL+PAGE DOWN moves the highlight one screen to the right in the spreadsheet. When you choose Freeze Titles and you have a cell in column A highlighted, only the rows above the current row are frozen. No column is included as a frozen title. In this case, the CTRL+PAGE DOWN key combination still moves the highlight to the right, but the screen will not redraw to show the cell.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works versions 3.0, 3.0a, and 3.0b for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
