SYMPTOMS

Printing from the Word Processor is extremely slow in Works 3.0.

WORKAROUNDS

Try the following possible workarounds:

  • Choose any menu, as soon as control returns to Works.
  • In Windows 3.x, in Print Manager, set Background Printing Priority to High.
  • Under Windows '95, adjust Print Spooling:
    1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
    2. With your right mouse button, click your printer, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the Details tab.
    4. Click Spool Settings, and then select Start Printing After First Page Is Spooled.
  • If you are connected to an Artisoft LANtastic network, you may need to change the Characters per Second setting for the server. Artisoft recommends a setting of 9600 for this. For information on changing your network setting, please see your network documentation.
