How to Disable TabWorks as the Windows Shell (126960)

How to Disable TabWorks

To disable TabWorks as the Windows shell and use Program Manager, follow these steps:

From the Options menu, choose Set Shell To/From Program Manager.
In the Set Windows Shell dialog box, select the Program Manager option button and then choose the OK button.
When you are prompted to, choose the Restart Windows button. TabWorks replaces the line

      SHELL=C:\TABWORKS\PROGRAMS\TABWORKS.EXE
						
```
in the SYSTEM.INI file with the line
```
      SHELL=PROGMAN.EXE
						
```
and restarts Windows using Program Manager as the Windows shell.

How to Enable TabWorks

To use TabWorks as the Windows shell, follow these steps:

In Program Manager, double-click the TabWorks icon in the TabWorks program group.
From the Options menu, choose Set Shell To/From Program Manager.
Select the TabWorks option button and then choose the OK button.
When you are prompted to, choose the Restart Windows button.

CAUTION: The TabWorks program group also contains an icon to remove TabWorks from your computer. Choose this icon only if you want to permanently remove TabWorks from your computer.
