PUB: Ruler Origin Does Not Stay at Spine of Book (124990)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Publisher for Windows 3.0
This article was previously published under Q124990 SYMPTOMS
When you create a publication using the book-fold page layout, the zero
point on the top ruler will always default to the left edge of the page.
Other desktop publishing software places the zero point of the ruler at the
spine of the book; if you work on a left page, the zero point of the ruler
is at the right edge of the page, and if you view facing pages, the zero
point is at the center boundary between pages.
RESOLUTION
To move the zero point on the top or side ruler to a different location:
- Place your mouse pointer on the ruler where you want the new zero point
to be.
- Click the right mouse button.
NOTE: This will change the ruler setting for the current publication only.
When you create a new book-fold publication, you will have to repeat these
steps.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
