Err Msg: SRVMGR.EXE - Entry Point Not Found (122571)

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade Windows NT version 3.1 to Service Pack 3, the following error message may appear when you select the Server Manager For Domains program in the Windows NT Resource Kit:
SRVMGR.EXE - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point NukeUsersSession__9LM_SRVRESSF4T could not be located in the dynamic link library LMUICMN1.DLL
When you choose the OK button in the dialog box with the message above, the following error message may appear:
SRVMGR.EXE - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000139).
Click on OK to terminate the application.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do one of the following:

  • Before you update your system with Service Pack 3, copy the SRVMGR.EXE file from the RESKIT subdirectory to the %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32 subdirectory. After the update, change the command line entry of the Server Manager for Domains program item property to point to the new location under the %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32 subdirectory.

    -or-
  • Expand the file SRVMGR.EX_ from the Service Pack 3 disk or CD to SRVMGR.EXE in the RESKIT subdirectory.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
