WD: Drop-Down Form Field Prints Truncated If Font Is Condensed (122196)

SYMPTOMS

The results of a drop-down form field (FORMDROPDOWN) are truncated when printed if you apply condensed font formatting to the text in the field. (To apply condensed font formatting, click Font on the Format menu, click the Character Spacing tab, and click Condensed in the Spacing list.)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Word 97 for Windows and Word 98 Macintosh Edition.

To remove the condensed font formatting from the drop-down form field, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Unprotect Document.
  2. Select the Drop-Down form field.
  3. On the Format menu, click Font, and click the Character Spacing tab.
  4. In the Spacing list, click Normal, and then click OK.
