This article was previously published under Q121900 SYMPTOMS When you try to enter an account number that contains more
than 14 digits for a Pay On-Line or Online Bill Payment Account, you receive
one of the following error messages: Money 99 and Later Please enter your account number at this
bank. Money 98 Please enter your 14 digit account number
at this bank. Money 4.0 and 5.0 Please enter your 1 to 14 digit account
number at this bank. Money 3.0 Account Number for accounts enabled for Pay
On-Line can be no longer than 14 digits. Please enter a shorter number or
Contact Pay On-Line Customer Support for more information. Money 2000 or later The account number you have entered is too
long. CAUSE This behavior is
by design.MORE INFORMATION Even though you can type up to 22 digits, Money will not
accept more than 14 digits. This is because the online banking provider is
requiring a Checking account for Online Bill Payment. You cannot use a Credit
Card account for Online Bill Payment.
NOTE: While Online Bill Payment Account numbers are limited to 14
digits, Payee account numbers can be larger. For example, when you pay your
credit card bill using an Electronic Payment (Epay), the Payee account number
can be entered as 16 digits.
