To create DDE links, do the following to add a "DDE Paste Link" command on the Edit menu on the Standard menu bar:

1. On the Tools Menu, point to Customize, and then click Toolbars.
2. Click the Commands tab.
3. In the Categories list, click Edit. From the Commands list, drag Paste to the Edit menu. When you release the mouse button, a new Paste command is added to the menu.
4. Right-click the Paste command you added to the menu and then click Assign Macro.
5. In the Command list, click DDEPasteLink.
6. Click OK.
7. Click Close.

Microsoft Project 4.0, 4.1

1. On the Tools menu, point to Customize, and then click Menu Bars.
2. In the Menu Bars dialog box, select Standard from the list, and then click Edit.
3. In the Menu Item column, under the subheading Edit, select Paste Special and then click Insert to create a new row.
4. In the new row, in the Menu Item field in, type "DDE Paste Link" , and in the Command/Macro field, type "DDEPasteLink".
5. Click OK.
6. Click Apply.

The DDE Paste Link command is now available on the Edit menu.
