SUMMARY

To print envelopes from the envelope feeder on your printer, try one of the following methods:

  • Select the Printer's Envelope Feeder Is Installed option as follows:

    1. From the Tools menu, choose Options.
    2. Select Printer's Envelope Feeder Is Installed and choose OK.

      NOTE: If this option is not selected, the printer will try to print the envelope(s) from the manual feed tray even if you select the envelope feeder in Printer Setup and Page Setup.
    -or-

  • Set the envelope feeder as a permanent setting by adding or updating the following Envelope section in your MSWORKS3.INI file
          [Envelope]
          Options=1
          LPT<x>=32

    where:

    • <x> is the actual port to which your are printing (for example, LPT1, LPT2, and so on).
    • 32 tells Works that the envelope feeder is installed, so that regardless of what you enter in the Options dialog box, Works always assumes that there is an envelope bin installed on the printer.

MORE INFORMATION

The next time you choose Options from the Tools menu, the Printer's Envelope Feeder Is Installed check box will NOT be selected. Each time you make a change to the Options settings, you must reselect the Printer's Envelope Feeder Is Installed check box to retain this setting. (However, if you followed second option, Works assumes you are printing from the envelope feeder, regardless of the settings in the Options dialog box.)

NOTE: The Printer's Envelope Feeder Is Installed check box is unavailable (dimmed) if the printer driver does not support an envelope feeder.

STATUS
