The Works for MS-DOS custom dictionary cannot be directly merged into the Works for Windows dictionary. To add words from the Works for MS-DOS custom dictionary to the Works for Windows Custom.dic file, open the Works for MS- DOS Personal.dic file in Works for Windows and check the spelling.

To add the words in the Works for MS-DOS custom dictionary to the Works for Windows custom dictionary, follow these steps:

  1. Start Works for Windows.
  2. Open the Personal.dic file (located in the Works for MS-DOS directory) as a Word Processor document.
  3. On the Tools menu, click Spelling.
  4. Click Add for each word that appears in the Spelling dialog box.
The words in your Works for MS-DOS dictionary are now added to your Works for Windows custom dictionary.
