The method used to discover devices. Options are: - IP - Devices are discovered by searching the intranet for specified IP addresses or a specified range of IP addresses.
- In-Band - Devices are discovered using I/O instructions on the data path only.
- File - Devices are added from a list in a file (/etc/deviceIP.conf). This discovery method only works for devices that support out-of-band discovery.

Optional. Value that helps you to name discovered devices. Options are: - None - No prefix will be attached to the name of the discovered device.
- Custom - Specify a prefix to be attached to he name of all discovered devices.
- Agent Name - Attach the name of the monitoring host to the name of all discovered devices.
