HP Monitors and Linux

Many common HP monitors are known and directly listed in the setup tools presented by Linux distributions such as Red Hat Linux. If your monitor is listed by the setup tool, it is usually best to simply select that entry as you are setting up your Xserver. Some monitors can even tell their characteristics to the setup tools directly.

However, some monitors may not be listed in the tool, so you may need to enter frequency information about your monitor by hand. Below is a listing of common HP monitors used with Linux.
