Introduction
The
Compaq Management Agents and Tools for Servers for
SCO UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters
software
release contains Compaq Agent programs and related files for
NonStop Clusters for SCO UnixWare 7. This release supports UnixWare
7.1.1 with SCO UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters version 7.1.1+XIP.
This version of Agents supersedes 5.00a Compaq
Agents - NonStop Clusters for UnixWare 7.

includes the following:

UnixWare or NT system:
Location and Files on the Compaq Management CD
The software
release is located in the /agents/nsc-uw7/eng/compaq
directory
of the Compaq Management CD.
This directory contains the following items:
(The first character of Unix file names will be lower case.)
Readme.txt
- A text file that points to the Readme.htm file. The
Readme.txt file is viewed on NT systems with the Readme.com ascii viewer
included at the top level of this CD.
Readme.htm
- A file for viewing with any
browser. On UnixWare systems, this file is
readme.htm
Docs
directory
- This directory contains the
documentation for the Compaq Management Agents and
Tools for Servers for SCO UnixWare 7,
which can be accessed using the links provided in
the previous section. On a UnixWare system, this
directory is

Install
- The installation script.
Nsc.pkg
- Contains all the files for the packages
in UNIX SVR4 package format.
Installation
Use the following steps to install the agents.
Before installing
- Be sure your system uses Version 7.40 or higher of the Compaq Enhanced Feature Supplement (EFS) for SCO UnixWare 7 and Version 7.40
or higher of the Compaq Host Bus Adapters (HBA). A Version of Smart Start compatible
with the system hardware is required.
- You can obtain the correct EFS and HBA version from the following URL:
http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/US/
This site lists server models.
- Select your server model from the list of servers.
- Select
All Models
to display a list of operating systems.
- From the list of operating systems, select
SCO UnixWare 7 and select go
.
- From the list on the next screen, select
Bundles (Drivers and Agents)
- From the table, select
Compaq EFS for SCO UnixWare 7 Version 7.40
- To make the necessary diskettes and install the HBA and EFS software, follow the installation instructions presented on the screen.
Installing the Agents and Tools Directly from the Compaq Management CD
To install the Agents directly from the Compaq Management CD, use the following instructions:
- Log in as root.
- Insert the Compaq Management CD into node
one's CD-ROM drive.
- Mount the Compaq Management CD at
/mnt
:
mkdir /mnt
mount -r -F cdfs -o noextend /dev/cdrom/n1c1b0t0l0 /mnt
Use the appropriate cdrom device for your system.
- Execute the install script using the following command, and follow the directions on the screen:
sh /mnt/agents/nsc-uw7/eng/compaq/install
Note:
During the installation of PTF nsc1013, you may be asked
to perform a download. Ignore this message.

Unmount the Compaq Management CD using the following command:
cd /; umount /mnt
- Remove the Compaq Management CD from CD-ROM
drive.
Enhancements / New Features
- nscupsd now supports UPS models R3000-XR and R1500-XR.
- The nsctools package contains the NonStop cluster Monitor.
- The nscccm, nscvu, and nscups packages have now been combined into the nsctools package.
