Claris Organizer 2.0v2 Updater

Important

To use this updater you must have already installed Claris Organizer 2.0.  If, for any reason, the updater doesnÕt work for you, make a backup of your personal Organizer data file (you should always do this anyway) and re-install Claris Organizer 2.0 from your original diskettes.  When the installer is finished DO NOT restart your computer.  Instead, immediately launch the updater again.

To take advantage of the updated Instant Organizer you must restart after using this updater.


Bugs Fixed in Claris Organizer 2.0v2

¥ There was a problem with deletion of recurring tasks or appointments in the monthly calendar window.  This has been fixed.

¥ The speed of various popup menus in the contact card and the list view windows has been dramatically increased.

¥ When the alarm notification dialog appears it will be accompanied by your computerÕs alert sound.

¥ Printing of single, marked contacts should now work in all cases.

¥ Many other small changes that should make Claris Organizer even more stable.


Suggestions

Do not let too many items accumulate in your popup menus.  The popup menus are designed to provide short-cuts to frequently used cities, companies, etc.  If you expect to have a very large number of contacts (over one thousand)  we suggest that you turn off the ÒAdd new items to menusÓ preference.  HereÕs how to do this: from the Edit menu choose ÒPreferencesÉÓ then click on the icon on the left that is labeled ÒContactsÓ.  Find the check-box that says ÒAdd new items to menusÓ and un-check it.

There is also another preference that you might consider disabling if you have a very large number of contacts.  If you turn of the ÒDo not auto-attach contactsÓ preference you will be spared waiting for the auto-attachment dialog when you enter a new appointment, task, or event that contains a reference to a contact.  To turn off this preference select ÒPreferencesÉÓ from the Edit menu.  Click on the icon on the left that is labeled ÒGeneralÓ.  Select the radio button that says ÒDo not auto-attach contactsÓ.  You may also want to experiment with the other three radio buttons in this preference panel.
