Pidentd
TCP/IP IDENT protocol server.

The pidentd package contains identd, which implements the RFC 1413 identification server. Identd looks up specific TCP/IP connections and returns either the user name or other information about the process that owns the connection.

Identd can run stand-alone, or can be started by inetd by adding the following line to /etc/inetd.conf:

auth stream tcp nowait root /usr/freeware/sbin/identd /usr/freeware/sbin/identd -o
