libcdaudio-0.99.9: description + notes

libcdaudio is a portable library for controlling Audio CDs and managing the transfer of information with the freedb and CDIndex systems.

The IRIX port of this package relies on the features offered by the standard IRIX CD audio library. As a consequence, only the CD-ROM units supported by the standard IRIX CD audio library will be available to libcdaudio applications.

NOTE: Because of conflicts with the standard IRIX CD audio header and library this package has been modified to install its header file as libcdaudio.h rather than cdaudio.h, and its library as liblibcdaudio.so rather than libcdaudio.so. You may have to modify applications to use these names and paths.

The API documentation is not available right now. An incomplete version of the libcdaudio programmer's manual can be found at http://cdcd.undergrid.net/libcdaudio/manual/.

Developers intending to use this distribution for application development should be sure to read the information in FAQ 3.8. Also note that the 64-bit version of this library is only usable on IRIX 6.5.19 and newer systems, as that is when a 64-bit version of libmediad was first introduced.
