Data Link Control (DLC) Protocol (Download: 202K, self-extracting Zip file, published: February 13, 1996) For individual users: This protocol is not used for general networking with Windows 95. For Information Systems Professionals: The Data Link Control (DLC) protocol is used primarily to access IBM mainframe and IBM AS/400 computers. The 32-bit DLC protocol software for Windows 95 enables a network administrator to add support for 32-bit and 16-bit DLC programs. Host terminal emulation programs use this protocol to communicate directly with mainframe computers. The 32 bit protocol software: - supports for Windows-based 32-bit programs that use CCB2. - supports for 16-bit programs (DOS/Windows) that use CCB1. - provides connectivity to local area printers connected directly to the network. For example, you can use DLC to print to a printer (such as a Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 4Si) that uses an HP JetDirect network adapter to connect directly to the network. - conforms to the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) 3.1 and is compatible with Token-Ring, FDDI, or ETHERNET network adapter drivers Download Instructions: 1.Click msdlc32.exe 2.Save the file in an empty folder on your PC. 3.Once the file is saved, go to the folder on your hard disk where the file is now located.
