SUMMARY

You cannot disable H.323 model for Windows NetMeeting on Windows 2000. NetMeeting uses H.323 model to make audio and video calls and uses T.120 protocol for data transfer including the File Transfer, the Chat, and the Application Sharing features of NetMeeting.

Although you cannot disable H.323 model for NetMeeting on Windows 2000, you can disable audio and video in NetMeeting as follows:
  1. On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type Gpedit.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. In the Group Policy dialog box, expand the following nodes under the User Configuration node:
    • Administrative Templates
    • Windows Components
    • NetMeeting
    • Audio & Video

  4. Double-click Disable Audio.
  5. In the Disable Audio Properties dialog box, click Disabled, and then click Apply.
  6. Double-click Prevent sending Video.
  7. In the Prevent sending Video Properties dialog box, click Disabled, and then click Apply.
  8. Double-click Prevent receiving Video.
  9. In the Prevent receiving Video Properties dialog box, click Disabled, and then click Apply.
NOTE: This procedure does not disable H.323 model from NetMeeting. NetMeeting continues to use H.323 model, and all the data transmission occurs on top of H.323 model.
