Patch kits are cumulative, each new kit contains all previous patches in addition to the new patch(es); i.e. new patched files are added, or previous files are modified. There are two ways to install the patched files: Partial Installation Install/upgrade only PowerTerm Full Installation Upgrade an original PW32 v7.1a kit image FULL INSTALLATION ================= This procedure updates a full release image which is subsequently installed over a current installation in much the same way as you would upgrade or reinstall a regular CD-ROM release. If you wish to patch several systems, you can create the release image on a shared directory and install it on each system over the network. 1. Create a release image by copying the original PATHWORKS 32 v7.1a CD-ROM to a disk directory. 2. Replace the 'ptw' directory in the release image with the one on this kit. 3. Run autoplay.exe in the root of the release image, select PowerTerm 525, and follow the instructions as you would a normal installation. PARTIAL INSTALLATION ==================== For Intel systems, run ptw\intel\setup.exe. For Alpha systems, run ptw\alpha\setup.exe.
