OpenVMS VAXMSCP01_061 OpenVMS VAX V6.1 MSCP.EXE ECO Summary

NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file. The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha. Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which can be used to install the ECO. Copyright (c) Digital Equipment Corporation 1996. All rights reserved. PRODUCT: OpenVMS VAX COMPONENT: MSCP.EXE SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation ECO INFORMATION: ECO Kit Name: VAXMSCP01_061 ECO Kits Superseded by This ECO Kit: None ECO Kit Approximate Size: 108 Blocks Kit Applies To: OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 System/Cluster Reboot Necessary: Yes ** NOTICE ** In order for the images in this remedial kit to execute properly, the VAXSHAD09_061 remedial kit for OpenVMS VAX V6.1 must be installed first. For assistance in obtaining the VAXSHAD09_061 remedial kit, please contact your normal Digital support channel. ECO KIT SUMMARY: An ECO kit exists for MSCP.EXE on OpenVMS Alpha V6.1. This kit addresses the following problems: o In the VAXSHAD09_061 kit there were four extra fields added to the end of the IRP data structure. These extra fields are past the end of the IRP size and so are not zeroed at the time the IRP is allocated. INSTALLATION NOTES: In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the entire cluster should be rebooted.
