OPEN3D OPEN3D_E12024 DEC Open3D V2.4 for OpenVMS AXP ECO Summary

Copyright (c) Digital Equipment Corporation 1994. All rights reserved. PRODUCTS: DEC Open3D for OpenVMS AXP DECwindows Motif[R] for OpenVMS AXP OP/SYS: OpenVMS Alpha SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation ECO INFORMATION: ECO Kit Name: OPEN3D_E12024 ECO Kits Superseded by This ECO Kit: None ECO Kit Approximate Size: 7600 Blocks Kit Applies To: DEC Open3D V2.4 DECwindows Motif V1.1, V1.2 OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 System Reboot Necessary: No ECO KIT SUMMARY: An ECO kit exists for DEC Open3D V2.4 on OpenVMS Alpha V6.1. This kit addresses the following problems: o Symbols (polymarkers) changing color under extreme load when clipped. This problem occurred with an PHIGS (PEX protocol) application that displayed large numbers of polymarkers, lines and text and then frequently updated the display. Occasionally, when the display was updated and new colors for some symbols, lines and text had been requested, the line and text entities changed properly, but some symbols retained the "old" color. o PEX HitTest malfunction. This problem was experienced with a PHIGS (PEX protocol) application. When multiple instances of the same object were displayed, then many of these instances were picked or "selected" using the PEX HitTest function, all objects were properly lit/selected except the first in the picked series. o Window Refresh with Resize. When a PHIGS application's graphics window was resized to a smaller area then resized back to the original or larger area, the window contents appeared to not scale properly or were clipped. o Leading line color wrong for bitmap text. This problem was found with a PHIGS (PEX protocol) application. Leading lines for bitmap precision annotation text were incorrectly using the current text color. Instead, the leading line should be assigned polyline attributes in accordance with the ANSI standard for PHIGS '88, page 142. INSTALLATION NOTES: The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is installed. However, the server must be restarted after the installation of this kit. NOTE: Please note that the actual name for the DEC Open3D ECO saveset is OPEN3D_E12024. This name is different than what is documented in the ECO Release Notes.
