OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 added as applicable version.
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for DECdfs V2.2. This kit addresses the following
problems:
Problems Addressed in the DECDFS03_022 kit:
o An occasional system crash may occur at system shut-down when
DECnet/Plus V6.3-5 is used. A new DECnet event was introduced
to indicate that a link had been broken by network management,
rather than by the network partners or fault conditions. The
procedure process_event had to be modified to handle the new
event.
o The DECdfs client process sometimes hangs in an RWAST state when
DECnet reports errors on the link. A window in the synchronization
on the DFSS UCB allowed the data structure to become inconsistent.
The synchronization was fixed.
Problems Addressed in the DECDFS02_022 kit:
o When an operation is performed on a file on a DECdfs device, the
DECdfs server may crash unexpectedly with an UNXSIGNAL exception at
DFSSDRIVER+01B5B (OpenVMS VAX only).
o When an operation is performed on a file on a DECdfs device, the
DECdfs server may crash unexpectedly with an SECURITY1 bugcheck at
DFSSDRIVER_NPRO+3030 (OpenVMS Alpha only).
o If checksumming is enabled, the DECdfs client may crash during the
checksum calculation with an INVEXCEPTN bugcheck at DFSRRDRIVER+1100
(OpenVMS Alpha only).
o When multiple processes on a DECdfs client are accessing files on a
DECdfs device, the processes may go into the LEF state if a DECnet
error occurs on the connection between the DECdfs client and the
DECdfs server.
o On a system that is running both DECdfs and DECnet/OSI, DECdfs may
appear to use all available DECnet connections because DECnet/OSI
ignores requests from DECdfs to disconnect connections.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system
must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the
entire cluster should be rebooted.
