NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

Installation Note:
Due to the complexities of maintaining the integrity of the
PCSI database, this kit must be installed once for each time
a previous PTHREADS kit was installed on the system. If both
the VMS712_PTHREADS02-V0100 and the VMS712_PTHREADS-V0100 kit
have been installed, this kit must be installed twice.

The following remedial kit(s) must be installed immediately
AFTER the installation of this kit:
VMS712_PTHREADS-V0300
In order to receive all the corrections listed in this
kit, the following remedial kits should also be installed:

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for PTHREADS and the SYS$STARLET_C.TLB Library
on OpenVMS Alpha V7.1-2. This kit addresses the following problems:
o The VMS712_PTHREADS-V0100 and VMS712_PTHREADS02-V0100 remedial
kits replaced files in the SYS$STARLET_C.TLB library. PCSI
does not allow individual files to be replaced in this library.
Because of PCSI database issues, subsequent kits that attempt
to access this library will ACCVIO. This VMS712_PTHREADS_DB-V0100
remedial kit corrects the PCSI database problems.
o The following restrictions apply to this kit:
+ This kit can only be installed if either the VMS712_PTHREADS-V0100
or VMS712_PTHREADS02-V0100 remedial kit has been installed on
the system.
+ This kit MUST be installed in conjunction with the
VMS712_PTHREADS-V0300 remedial kit. If the VMS712_PTHREADS-V0300
kit is not installed immediately after this kit, DECthreads will
not work.
+ This kit is not needed and will not install if the
VMS712_PTHREADS-V0300 remedial kit has already been installed
on the system.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The VMS712_PTHREADS-V0300 ECO kit must be installed immediately after
the installation of this kit.
The images in this kit will not take effect until the system is
rebooted. If there are other nodes in the VMScluster, they must
also be rebooted in order to make use of the new image(s).
