PW-MAC CSCPAT_3024 AppleTalk V3.0-1 ECO Summary

Copyright (c) Digital Equipment Corporation 1994. All rights reserved. PRODUCT: PATHWORKS for VMS (Macintosh) OP/SYS: OpenVMS SOURCE: Digital Customer Support Center ECO INFORMATION: CSCPAT Kit: CSCPAT_3024 V1.4 CSCPAT Kit Size: 342 blocks Engineering Cross Reference: ATKVMS_ECO01030 Kit Applies To: PATHWORKS for VMS (Macintosh) V1.1 System Reboot Required: YES ECO KIT SUMMARY: An ECO (patch) kit exists for the AppleTalk subsystem of PATHWORKS for VMS (Macintosh) V1.1. This kit addresses the following problems: o Added prev_tbe field to TGD to eliminate stale reference. This corrects a problem that could cause a crash during ASP session cancellation. o Permit wild cards in the name field of a confirm call. o All read errors now delay before retrying. This corrects a problem where an Ethernet with high error rates could result in saturation of the VAX. o Increased tickle timer timeout value to reduce the likelihood of Apple LaserWriter printers hanging when they run out of paper. o Do not adjust the size of a CXB if it's already filled in. This corrects a problem on systems with unusual SYSGEN memory tuning parameters losing non-paged pool over time. o Insure that tickle timers are decremented only for open connections. This corrects a problem where pending opens for very busy printers were being lost. INSTALLATION NOTES: In order for the corrections to take effect the system must be rebooted. If you are a member of a VAXcluster, the entire cluster must be rebooted. You may postpone rebooting if it is not convenient for you; however, the new driver(s) will not take affect until after a reboot.
