OpenVMS ALPDWXT01_070 DECW$XTDRIVER Alpha ECO Summary

NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file. The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha. Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which can be used to install the ECO. Copyright (c) Digital Equipment Corporation 1994, 1996. All rights reserved. PRODUCT: OpenVMS Alpha COMPONENT: DECW$XTDRIVER.EXE SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation ECO INFORMATION: ECO Kit Name: ALPDWXT01_070 ECO Kits Superseded by This ECO Kit: AXPDWXT01_061 (AXPDWXT) ECO Kit Approximate Size: 440 Blocks Saveset A - 162 Blocks Saveset B - 90 Blocks Saveset C - 90 Blocks Saveset D - 90 Blocks Kit Applies To: OpenVMS Alpha V6.1, V6.1-1H1, V6.1-1H2, V6.2, V6.2-1H1, V6.2-1H2, V6.2-1H3, V7.0 This kit no longer supports OpenVMS V1.5* (AXPDWXT01_015). If you are using OpenVMS Alpha V1.5* and need the fixes contained in this kit, it is recommended that you upgrade to a later version of OpenVMS Alpha. System/Cluster Reboot Necessary: Yes ECO KIT SUMMARY: An ECO kit exists for OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 through V7.0. This kit addresses the following problems: Problems Addressed in the ALPDWXT01_070 Kit: o EV4 and later CPU modules in a multiple CPU environment, will cause VXT2000 window users (using the LAT transport protocol) to lose all DECterm's, clocks, calendars, Bookreader, etc. Only Session Manager remains. Problems Addressed in the AXPDWXT01_061 Kit for OpenVMS Alpha V6.1, V6.1-1H1: o When a LAT connection is lost because of a network interruption, XTDRIVER posts the same IRP twice to I/O postprocessing, corrupting the I/O postprocessing queue and possibly resulting in a SSRVEXCEPTN crash. INSTALLATION NOTES: In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the entire cluster should be rebooted.
