TITLE: ADA ADAAE02035 Ada V3.5 for OpenVMS Alpha ECO Summary
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
For OpenVMS savesets, the name of the compressed saveset
file will be kit_name.a-dcx_vaxexe for OpenVMS VAX or
kit_name.a-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha. Once the OpenVMS
saveset is copied to your system, expand the compressed
saveset by typing RUN kitname.dcx_vaxexe or kitname.dcx_alpexe.
For PCSI files, once the PCSI file is copied to your system,
rename the PCSI file to kitname-dcx_axpexe.pcsi, then it can
be expanded by typing RUN kitname-dcx_axpexe.pcsi. The resultant
file will be the PCSI installation file which can be used to install
the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for Ada V3.5 on OpenVMS Alpha V6.2 through V7.2. This
kit addresses the following problems:
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN ADAAE03035:
o Compiler/ACS hang on Alpha EV6 systems.
o Corrected title page for "DEC Ada Technical Overview and Comparison
on DIGITAL Platforms" manual. Shipped online, in kit only.
o Threads created by a non-Ada subprogram could hang, due to unexpected
scheduling policies after Ada runtime initialization. Runtime edit
important to replace Ada runtime shipped by Compaq Ada V3.5 on
OpenVMS V7.2 systems.
o Ada runtime fatal internal error, or "bad block address" error on
OpenVMS V7.2 systems.
o Runtime error causing TEXT_IO usage to hang.
o DEC Ada to GNAT Report Mapper V1.1 (improved messages).
o Compiler accvio in GEM_DB/GEM_DB_ABORT.
o Compiler accvio in DFLO\FACT_IS_KNOWN_LEQ for generic parameter with
default initializer.
o Predefined Ada Library package STARLET binding CHECK_PRIVILEGE has
incorrect FIRST_OPTIONAL_PARAMETER.
o Missing LIB$ bindings from Predefined Ada Library package LIB.
o Compiler debugging information problem when using fixed point as
record component, whose size is specified in representation clause.
o Change listings and version idents to "Compaq Ada" (from "DEC Ada").
o Access violation at runtime using Predefined Ada Library binding
X_LIB.LOOKUP_KEYSYM.
o Predefined Ada Library's extended motif bindings don't compile
with /ANALYSIS compiler qualifier; gets compiler accvio.
o Issues with mixing Ada supplied CLD command file with previous
versions of Ada compiler. /ARCHITECTURE and /TUNE qualifiers don't
work correctly.
o Improvements and fixes to Compaq Ada to GNAT Report Mapper utility.
