These files are available on this Console CD. **************************************************************************** Restriction NOTE: To execute LP7ldr.exe and LP8ldr.exe on a Alpha Server 8000 series ARC emulator using a Digital Terminal model #VT420, the following change is required to the VT420 setup. 1) F3 enter setup 2) Move to "COM" 3) Select "XOFF at 128" 4) Move to "Directory" 5) Select "Save" 6) Select "Exit" **************************************************************************** 1)LP7ldr.exe: This utility will load firmware revision sf303a1.awc into all KGPSA-BC adapters on the system. It is an ARC utility which will run under ARC, AlphaBIOS or the Alpha Server 8000 series ARC emulator. To start the program under ARC: At the boot menu select 'Run a program' Enter: lp7ldr replacing with the appropriate path to the floppy or CD-ROM drive To start the program under AlphaBIOS: At the setup menu select 'Run a maintenance program' Enter: lp7ldr for the program name Select: floppy or CD-ROM as the device To start the program under the Alpha Server 8000 series ARC emulator: Issue the following commands: 1. set console serial 2. set arc_enable on 3. set console_mode advanced 4. init 5. run iso9660:lp7ldr.exe -d dkd400 -p 2 where -d = cd-rom device -p = pci bus where the KGPSA-BC's are installed as displayed by the "show config" command The program will list all KGPSA-BC and KGPSA-CA adapters found, except under ARC emulation when it will only list those on the specified PCI bus. The user will be prompted to type C or c to continue. On entering C or c all apropriate adapters will be updated with the firmware image. Adapters that are not of the model for which the firmware is intended will cause an 'invalid device type' error. This version will update all KGPSA-BC adapters with sf320x7.awccode. Note that all KGPSA-BC adapters will be loaded sf320x7.awcfirmware regardless of what version they currently have installed. 2)LP8ldr.exe: This utility will load firmware revision dd381a4.awc into all KGPSA-CA adapters on the system.
