There were no V5.1 to V5.3 revisions. SROM V3.0 VMS PALCODE V5.56-3 UNIX PALcode V1.45-2 The update bootfile also contains the following I/O Option Firmware Revisions (* = CHANGED since last release) : type name Mnem hardware firmware Firmware filename (1) 0C2F CIXCD cixcd All Revs 7.0 lfu$firm:cimna_v7.bin (2) 2006 DEFAA defaa All Revs 1.1 lfu$firm:fbus_main_v1_1.sys (3) 0823 DEMFA demfa All Revs 2.1 lfu$firm:demfa021.sys (4) 0C03 DEMNA demna All Revs 9.4 lfu$firm:evgdbq_904.bin (5) 0C22 KCM44 kcm44 All Revs 3.1 lfu$firm:kcm44_v31.ecc (6) 0C22 KDM70 kdm70 All Revs 4.4 lfu$firm:kdm70_v44.ecc (7) 0C31 KFMSB kfmsb B01 - B01 1.0 lfu$firm:kfmsb_eeprom_v1_0.exe (8) 0C31 KFMSB kfmsb C02 - C02 2.4 lfu$firm:kfmsb_eeprom_v2_4.exe (9) 8001 KN7AA kn7aa All Revs 5.4 [--.exe]ruby_grom_srom.image (10) 8006 KN7AB kn7ab All Revs 5.4 [--.exe]ruby_grom_srom.image (11) 0C36 KZMSA kzmsa All Revs 5.6 lfu$firm:kzmsa_v56.exe 2. Firmware Enhancements and New Features Console V5.4 contains the following enhancements : Fixed problem with the improper initialization of the PCBB IPR. This register is used during the starting of secondaries. The problem was noticed during the AUTOGEN phase of a VMS upgrade to version 7.2. In most cases the values that were used did not cause a problem. This only affects VMS systems and not UNIX. The LFU has V7 of CIXCD code added. 3. Firmware Anomalies, Restrictions, and Workarounds Always set boot_reset on before performing LFU updates Issuing a control p after booting and prior to the VMS banner being printed is not guarenteed to always work. In rare instances during a reboot the console has exhibited double echoing of characters typed at the console. If this does occur it can be rectified by issuing a control p and then stopping the secondary cpu's and then restarting them. >>>stop cpu x !x being the secondary >>>set cpu x !x being the secondary cpu number >>>cont &P x !this will restart the secondary >>>cont !go back to the OS 4.
