   on this Alpha Systems Firmware Update CD, contain

   the Firmware Update Utility and SRM Console V5.5 which

   has following components (* = Changed since last release):

        UNIX PALcode  1.22-8



2. Firmware Enhancements and New Features



   - Fix for hang during UNIX installations on systems with 

     large memory configurations.

   None



4. Running the Firmware Update Utility



   To run the firmware update utility, follow this procedure:



        1.  From the Firmware Update menu choose whichever selection

            appears:



            Update SRM Console Firmware



            Update Firmware



        2.  When you are prompted to continue the update, choose

            Yes.



        3.  If the console selection does not match the firmware

            you updated, you will be prompted to update the 

            console selection.  If you are prompted to update the

            console selection, choose Yes.



        4.  Restart the system.
