TCT

The TCT Screen shows the current status of all terminals connected to a Sun MTP
system as well as unconnected terminals defined in the Sun MTP Terminal Control
Table (TCT). The TCT Screen entries appear sorted based on the "Type" of
connection. There are many types of connections: 3270, EPI, Free, Local, Remote,
TN3270, TR, and Unknown. 3270 connections may be either real 3270 terminals or
some form of 3270 emulation (Sun MTP treats each exactly the same). An EPI
connection is a programmatic connection via the External Presentation Interface
API. Free entries refer to the number of terminal connections available to
a Sun MTP system due to the licensed number of users. For example, a 16 user
license automatically gives 16 Free entries in the TCT Screen, and all entries
that are not configured or connected appear as Free. The Local and Remote
connections refer to Sun MTP terminal handlers that either run on the
host where Sun MTP runs, or remotely on another system, respectively. A
TN3270 connection refers to a Telnet 3270 client. This type of 3270 emulation
requires a TN3270 Server (available with Sun MTP) that talks to a variety of
TN3270 clients (many available in the public domain). The TR connection refers
to a surrogate entry in the Sun MTP TCT that handles Transaction Routing. The TR
is a special case of the 3270 type connection. In the case when Sun MTPScan cannot
determine the "Type" of connection, the "Type" is Unknown.

The TCT Screen's KxScrolledList displays quite a large number of columns of
statistics. However, most columns are specific to the "Type", and are only set
where applicable. The columns are:

Type -> type of connection (see above)
Termid -> terminal identifier internal to Sun MTP
Busy -> tells if a device is performing a transaction
Userid -> system userid associated with an entry
Status -> current status of a terminal
Model -> specific 3270 model or TERM environment variable
Device Name -> device identifier specific to "Type"
LU Name -> Logical Unit name of all 3270 and TR entries
Host -> machine where a terminal handler client process runs
Pid -> system process id of terminal handler client process
Session -> connection number for 3270, EPI, and TR entries
Svc -> in or out of service
Logon -> Auto Logon value preconfigured in Sun MTP TCT
Active -> polling activity for socket-based terminal handlers
Port -> port number for socket-based terminal handlers
Messages -> number of messages for socket-based terminal handlers
RSys -> name of the remote system for TR only
