Type (Sun MTP Servers)

DESCRIPTION
"Type" identifies the kind of Sun MTP Server for each process shown on the Sun MTP
Servers Screen.

VALUES
The possible values for "Type" of Sun MTP Server processes are shown below, each
with an indication of how many entries of a "Type" to expect:

   ISC Server - only one
   Print Server - only one
   Recovery Server - only one
   Socket Server - only one
   Startq Server - only one
TX Server - one for each configured in the VCT
   Trin Server - only one
   Unikixmain - only one

INTERPRETATION
This datapoint shows the "Type" of Server for a particular Server process. For
the most part, the "Type" is almost identical to the "Name" column. However, the
"Type" field is of particular use when a Sun MTP system employs a custom TX
Server. The "Name" of a custom TX Server does not have to even resemble
'unikixtran'. Refer to the Help on the Environment Screen's "Tran Server" for
details.

CONCLUSIONS
Note that TX Servers can come and go during standard Sun MTP system execution.
Since there are genuine circumstances where Sun MTP aborts a TX Server and
forks (creates) a new one, be aware that a Server's statistics may not be
totally consistent with application usage.
