Port (TCT)

DESCRIPTION
The "Port" shows the port number used by a terminal handler (TH) client process
to communicate with a Sun MTP system. The "Port" is only used by socket-based
TH clients unikixb, unikixc, and unikixs.

VALUES
The "Port" is an integer value.

INTERPRETATION
A Sun MTP system communicates with a TH client through an operating system socket.
A socket connects two ports, usually (but not necessarily) on different machines. A
"Port" is a communication abstraction used by UDP and IP protocols in the
Internet domain.

CONCLUSIONS
You cannot control the "Port" number for the TH client, as the operating system
assigns them dynamically such that "Port" numbers do not conflict within a host.
Note that the values in the "Port" column are not the port number specified for the
unikixmain Server or the client initiator (unikixi).
