Total Reads/sec (Summary)

DESCRIPTION
The "Total Reads/sec" Histogram on the Summary Screen shows the total number
of physical reads per second issued by all active Sun MTP systems that appear
on the Summary Screen.

VALUES
Sun MTPScan calculates this value by summing the "Reads/sec" datapoints from all
active Sun MTP systems monitored by Sun MTPScan.

INTERPRETATION
This Histogram gives an idea of the overall physical read activity across all
Sun MTP systems operating on a given machine. These reads are physical to Sun MTP.
Sun MTP is not able to find a file control interval in its buffer pool so it
must ask the system for the information. The operating system may have the
data in its buffer cache, so a physical read may not be an actual read to a
hard disk.

CONCLUSIONS
Note that Sun MTPScan computes this datapoint upon every Update Interval for the
Summary Screen. At that time, Sun MTPScan sums the values last collected by the
individual Sun MTP systems. The age and validity of those values depends on how
often you have told Sun MTPScan to obtain the values from the Sun MTP systems.
