Filename (Recovery)

DESCRIPTION
"Filename" is the name of the recovery file specified in the Sun MTP VSAM
Configuration Table (VCT). The "Filename" comes in two flavors, depending on the
"Type" of recovery file.

VALUES
"Filename" displays the name of the recovery file only when recovery is active.
When recovery is not active, this datapoint displays 'Not Active' and all other
datapoints are blank. If you have requested the recovery facility but have not
configured enough space for the recovery file, the "Size" datapoint displays
'Not Enough'.

INTERPRETATION
When the recovery file "Type" has a value of 'UNIX' or 'NT', "Filename" is the
name of a file that resides in the directory specified by the value of
"Environment". Otherwise, "Filename" displays the device name of the disk
partition for a 'Native' recovery file which is only available for UNIX systems.

CONCLUSIONS
Merely specifying a recovery file in the VCT does not necessarily enable
recovery on all datasets used by a Sun MTP system. In order to activate recovery
on a given dataset, the recovery file must be specified in the VCT and recovery
must also be specified for the dataset in the FCT.
