Avg In (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
"Avg In" shows the average number of characters associated with inbound inter-
system communication (ISC) requests from a given remote system.

VALUES
The value of "Avg In" is an integer character count. Sun MTPScan calculates "Avg In"
by dividing the total number of characters received from all ISC requests by the
number of inbound requests, "Req In".

INTERPRETATION
"Avg In" shows an overview of all inbound activity over a particular ISC
connection. A connection's ISC Statistic's Screen breaks the activity down into
discrete ISC types. That Screen shows an "Avg In" for each type of ISC request.

CONCLUSIONS
This datapoint provides a general idea of the amount of traffic involved with
inbound ISC requests. To estimate the volume of data involved, multiply "Req In"
by "Avg In". The former datapoint shows the actual number of inbound requests.
For a more accurate view, the ISC Statistics Screen shows the exact number of
characters transferred for each type of ISC request.
