Network Partner (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
The "Network Partner" datapoint is the network qualified partner LU name
that corresponds to the "Partner" datapoint value. A LU6.2 server
involved in Intersystem Communications (ISC) uses the "Partner"
datapoint to define the name of the remote system.

VALUES
The value of the "Network Partner" contains a maximum of 17 characters. Its
value has the format:

	                    netid.netname

where netid is the network id of the remote Sun MTP/CICS region and netname
is the network name of the remote Sun MTP/CICS region.

The "Partner" and "Network Partner" datapoints correspond to the "Ptnr_LU Name"
and "---Nq_Pntr_Name---" field values of the Sun MTP TCT System Entries table.
When the access method is Brixton, both "Partner" and "Network Partner"
datapoints must have a value. For DCL access method, only "Network Partner" is
required and for TCP/IP, neither datapoint will have a value. Although values
may not be required, it may be useful to include informational data in them
when configuring TCT system entries.

INTERPRETATION
Sun MTP makes calls to the LU6.2 server specifying "Partner" and "Mode" to
uniquely describe a connection between the LU6.2 server and the remote
Sun MTP/CICS region. The "Partner" datapoint is an alias for the
"Network Partner" datapoint.

CONCLUSIONS
If the values in either the "Network Partner", "Partner" or the "Mode" columns
are in error, the LU6.2 allocate fails and the EXEC CICS command returns
SYSIDERR as an exception response.
