Local LU (ISC)

DESCRIPTION
The "Local LU" (Logical Unit) displays the name of the Sun MTP region for
intersystem communication (ISC). All LU6.2 connections for a particular Sun MTP
system use the same "Local LU". When using the Brixton access method, Sun MTP
calls the lu62_open command with this name to open a connection to an LU6.2
server. The server runs on the machine identified by the "Host" datapoint
of entries in the scolledlist of the ISC Screen. When the access method is
either DCL or TCP/IP, no value is recorded for this datapoint.

VALUES
The "Local LU" name has an 8 character maximum length. The datapoint should
contain the same value as the "LU Name" field of the System Entries portion of
the Terminal Control Table (TCT). This is the NAME parameter of the LU directive
in the Brixton LU6.2 configuration file for the particular connection.

INTERPRETATION
This name is actually an alias for the network-qualified LU name defined in
the LU6.2 configuration file.

CONCLUSIONS
If this name does not match the name configured in the Brixton LU6.2
configuration file, you will get an lu62_open failure. Sun MTP appends
a message to the $KIXSYS/unikixmain.log file.
