The ESP_NETRA_DOG KM is responsible for reporting on the configuration
of the software driven watchdog provided as part of the Netra product
range.
The Netra watchdog works by use of a system controller programmed with
a user configurable timeout value. The watchdog is patted at a regular
interval (again configurable by the user) to prevent the timer from
expiring. The watchdog patter is implemented within the LOM driver or
in the case of TSalarms as a user daemon.
Should the system controller timer expire and the user has activated
the LOM hardware reset option a system reboot will result. This
configuration provides an automated solution to system hard hangs
where the assumption is that data is contained in stable memory.
Alternatively on expiration of the system controller timer the user
may configure alarm3 to be set to the "on" state.
The watchdog itself may be set to be on or off.
NB : the current default configuration has the watchdog turned off
DIAGNOSTICS
which results in alarm3 being automatically set.
See the man pages for the following commands

/usr/sbin/lom -w
