SolarNet PC-Admin Patch Release Notes (Server Version)

			    December, 1995

                    (C)1995 by Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Please review this document before installation and before enabling
PC-NFSpro(TM) clients to operate in a SolarNet(TM) PC-Admin(TM) environment.
The Release Notes describe what happens when you install this software on
your PC-Admin servers and PC-NFSpro 2.0 client. They tell how to install this
software on the PC-NFSpro clients, how to enable and disable the PC-Admin
features, and how the client functions when the PC-Admin features are
enabled. See also the README.nnnnnn-nn file that explains how to install the
patch on your server using "installpatch" and lists the files installed on
your system.

All rights and restrictions that apply to the PC-Admin documentation apply to
this supplement.

BEFORE YOU START
----------------

These release notes provide detailed information about this patch software.
You can print them out and read each section. But before you install the
software, read this section so that you can avoid problems with the
installation. Install server software first, and then install client
software.

Server Installation:

1. The server must be running PC-Admin 1.5 or 1.5.1.
Install the server software first following the instructions in "PC-Admin
   1.5 Installation and Configuration."

2. You need 1 Mbyte free disk space to install the patch.

3. Be sure you have the correct version of the patch. (See "Which
Version of the Patch to Install.")

4. If you are installing on an Intel machine, be aware that the installation
can take up to 20 minutes. (See "Which Version of the Patch to Install.")

5. Read the README.nnnnnn-nn file for instructions on how to install the patch
   software on the server.

6. If the update is installed on one PC-Admin server in a NIS+ domain,
it must be installed on all PC-Admin servers in that domain. This applies
only if the PC-Admin servers are using NIS+ as their nameservice.

Client Installation:

1. The PC must be running PC-NFSpro 2.0. Install the PC client software
following the instructions in the "SolarNet PC-NFSpro 2.0 User's Guide."

   - If this is a new installation, choose a temporary license and configure
the PC to use LAN+DHCP. When rebooted as a PC-Admin client, your PC
will be assigned an IP address, host name, and license, using DHCP.

   - If you have already installed PC-NFSpro with assigned IP address and
host name, you should add this configuration information to the PC-Admin
server's database after running setup and before rebooting your PC.
See the instructions in the section, "Saving Configuration Information" below.

   - If you are upgrading from PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client, install PC-NFSpro
2.0 software on the PC, as in a new installation.

2. Be sure there is a PC-NFSpro program group; otherwise the Change Password
icon will show up in the wrong place. (See "Client Requirements" for
directions on how to change the name of the program group.)

1. OVERVIEW OF USING PC-NFSpro 2.0 CLIENTS WITH PC-ADMIN 1.5
============================================================

Installing this patch creates an environment that allows the PC-NFSpro
2.0 client to operate with a PC-Admin 1.5 server. This document,
refers to the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client that is not PC-Admin enabled as
an "independent" client, and to the PC-Admin enabled client as
a "managed" client.

The installation script creates a directory structure on the server to
support the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client. The PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client will
behave in most ways as a PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client. The major difference is
that, for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client, the network applications are
accessed locally (on the PC), while for the PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client, the
applications are exported from the PC-Admin server. Installation involves
first installing the patch software on all PC-Admin 1.5 servers and then on
each PC-NFSpro 2.0 PC that you want to enable.

Which Version of the Patch to Install
-------------------------------------

You must select from four versions of this patch, depending on the
architecture of your server (Sparc or Intel) and the version of
PC-Admin installed (1.5 or 1.5.1).

Version Architecture	Part Number	Language
--------------------------------------------------------
PC-Admin 1.5.1	Sparc 102853-01	English
PC-Admin 1.5.1	Intel 102894-01	English
PC-Admin 1.5	Sparc 102899-01	English
PC-Admin 1.5	Intel 102900-01	English

PC-Admin 1.5.1	Sparc 103462-01	French
PC-Admin 1.5.1	Intel 103463-01	French

PC-Admin 1.5.1	Sparc 103464-01	German
PC-Admin 1.5.1	Intel 103465-01	German

To determine which version of PC-Admin you have installed, type:

     pkginfo -x

and scroll through the list of packages for the most recent instance of
the SUNWpcnet package.

NOTE: It takes from 15 to 20 minutes to install the patch on an Intel system. Be
patient. The system will appear to be hung while the software is taking inventory
of the file system.

What Features Are Enabled
-------------------------

Enabling PC-Admin features involves clicking on a button in a pop-up window
in the Configuration program on the PC and rebooting the PC. Enabling
PC-Admin features changes the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client from an "independent"
client to a "managed" client.

A PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client will differ from the PC-NFSpro
independent client in the following ways:

- The PC uses DHCP to receive all network configuration parameters
  dynamically at boot time.

- The PC-Admin administration applications (User Manager and Client
Manager) and their Windows Help files are available in the
  PC-Admin program group.

- The Change Password application is available in the PC-NFSpro
  program group.

- The user's home directory is automatically mounted from the PC-Admin
  server.

- The user's home directory contains application-specific preferences,
configuration files, and some data files. These are available over
the network instead of on the PC's local hard drive.

A PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client will differ from a PC-Admin 1.5 Windows
client in the following ways:

- The managed client accesses its current applications from
the local disk. The applications exported from the server are Client
Manager, User Manager, and Change Password.

- User preference files may be located locally (on the PC) or on the
home directory (exported from the server). The system administrator
can set the policy for user preferences or delegate that decision to
the user. (See "SNC Scripts" later in the Release Notes.)

- The Q drive is not automatically mounted, and the PC-Admin documentation
is not exported from the PC-Admin server. Refer to the "PC-Admin 1.5
Administrator's Guide" for documentation about the administration
applications, and to the "SolarNet PC-NFSpro 2.0 User's Guide" for
documentation about the client. These release notes document the behavior
  of the managed client.

For instructions on how to mount the Q drive and access the on-line books,
see Section 5. "ON-LINE BOOKS," later in the Release Notes.

Licensing
---------

No licensing changes are required. The PC-Admin enabled client will
continue to use its current licensing mechanism (either a locally
installed license or a networked license from the PLUM database). If
there is no local permanent license, or if there was a temporary license
that has expired, the PC-Admin enabled client will be assigned a license
from PLUM.

________________________________________________________________________

2. SERVER INSTALLATION
======================

Install the patch on the server following the instructions in the README
file.

Contents of the Server Packages
-------------------------------

The patch contains two partial PC-Admin packages: SUNWpcnet and
SUNWpcpro.

- SUNWpcnet installs a new dhcptab template file that contains the
symbol definitions for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client class
(SUNW.PCW.LAN). It also contains a new snconfig program that creates
the correct client class macro for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client. You do
not need to run snconfig as part of patch installation, but you may
safely rerun snconfig at any time after installation.

- SUNWpcpro is installed into a new client subdirectory on the server
(/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0). This package contains the PC client patch
installation program, SNC scripts, and executables and files exported
  to the PC client.

Server Requirements
-------------------

Before installing this software, be sure you have at least 1 Mbyte
free disk space in the partition where you have installed PC-Admin
(/opt by default). Otherwise, the installpatch script will exit with
the error "./installpatch[35]: exit_code: not found."

What Happens During Server Installation
---------------------------------------

Installing the patch software does not affect the existing
PC-Admin clients. When you install the patch on the PC-Admin server
system, the installation program:

- Creates a new client subtree for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client called
/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0. This area contains the setup files and executables
that PC-NFSpro 2.0 needs to operate with the PC-Admin 1.5 server.

- Installs the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client SNC scripts in
  /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/site/pcnfspro.

- Installs the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client setup program in
  /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro.

- Replaces the dhcptab.tpl template file with a new one containing the
vendor extension symbol definitions for the new client class.

- Replaces snconfig with a new version of snconfig. The new version
adds a client class macro definition for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client
  class.

A post-install script runs automatically after installation. It
performs the following steps:

- Copies shared executables and libraries for the administration
applications (User Manager, Client Manager, and Change Password) into
  /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pro/bin.

- Executes the sndhcpinit command to rebuild the symbol definitions in
  the dhcptab table.

NOTE: You do not have to run snconfig after installing the patch.

__________________________________________________________________________

3. CLIENT INSTALLATION
======================

Once the PC-Admin 1.5 server has been upgraded, you can install the patch
software on the PC-NFSpro client PC.

How to Install Client Software on PC-NFSpro 2.0 Client
------------------------------------------------------

The PC users can install the client patch software over the
network or from a diskette. The installation program is
/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro/setup.exe.

PC Client Requirements
----------------------

Before running the setup program on the PC, make sure you have met the
following conditions.

- The PC is running PC-NFSpro 2.0. You must install PC-NFSpro 2.0
before installing the client patch software on the PC.

- There is a PC-NFSpro program group. The install program adds the
Change Password icon to the PC-NFSpro program group. If you have renamed
that program group, change the name back to PC-NFSpro before installing the
client patch software. You can change it back again after running setup.

- All network applications are closed. Any open network applications may
cause the setup program to fail with a message that indicates a problem
with locked files. If you get this message, use ALT-TAB to close all open
network applications, then select Retry and continue with setup.

To Install Over the Network:
----------------------------

  1. On the PC, mount the install directory.

     a. From the PC-NFSpro 2.0 Login/Logout program, select Settings.

     b. From the PC-NFSpro 2.0 Current Settings menu, select Network
	Drives.

The Network Drive Connections dialog box opens.

     c. In the Network Path field, type the full path name of the client
        installation directory. For example:
	  servername:/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro

     d.	In the Drive field, enter the letter of an available drive
(or accept the next available drive).

     e. Choose Connect.

     f. Choose Connect Drive Read Only, then choose OK.

  2. Install the client software on the PC.

     a. Select Run from the Program Manager's File menu.

     b. In the command box, enter the drive letter followed by setup.
For example, if you chose drive F in step 1d, enter:

         f:setup

  3. After the setup program has finished, the PC-Admin Features dialog box
is displayed, with "Enable PC-Admin Features" selected. At this point,
you can choose to enable PC-Admin features. (See "Enabling PC-Admin
     Features," below.)

  4. Do not reboot!
If you are upgrading from PC-NFSpro 2.0, and you have an assigned IP
address and host name that were not allocated by DHCP, you should add that
information to the PC-Admin server's data stores before rebooting your PC.
See the instructions in "Saving Configuration Information" below.

If you do not have an assigned IP address or host name, then you can
restart (choose the Restart button) after enabling PC-Admin.

To Install From a Diskette:
---------------------------

The administrator can create an installation diskette by copying the install
directory (/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro) onto a diskette.
(For directions see "To Create an Installation Diskette" below.

  1. On the PC, place the installation diskette into a diskette drive.

  2. From Windows Program Manager, choose File ->Run, then enter:

	a:setup

  3. After the Setup program has finished, the PC-Admin Features dialog box is
displayed, with "Enable PC-Admin Features" selected. At this
point, you can choose to enable PC-Admin features. (See "Enabling
     PC-Admin Features," below.)

To Create an Installation Diskette:
-----------------------------------

  1. On a PC running PC-NFSpro or PC-Admin, connect to the install
directory. See the directions under "To Install Over the Network."

  2. Place a diskette into drive A.

  3. In a DOS window, enter the commands:

     xcopy X:\*.* a:\
     xcopy X:\bin\*.* a:\bin\

where X is the letter of the drive where you connected the install
     directory in step 1.

NOTE: Do not copy the directory
/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro/upgrade to the diskette.

Saving Configuration Information
--------------------------------

If you have currently-installed PC-NFSpro 2.0 clients which have assigned
host names and IP addresses, you should add the configuration information to
the configuration files on the PC-Admin server. Doing so enables the PC
client to keep its name and IP address when it boots up as a managed client.
If you do not perform this step, DHCP will dynamically assign a host name and
IP address to the PC at boot time.

NOTE: If you have an assigned license, you can continue to use that license
when you become a managed client. If you have no license, DHCP will
dynamically assign one at boot time.

The installation program saves configuration information (host name and
IP address) for the client in a backup directory in the install
directory on the PC (for example: C:\solarnet\upgrade\mypc.001).

To Add this Information to the PC-Admin Server's Database:

1. Copy the file to the upgrade directory on the PC-Admin server,
(/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/install/pcnfspro/upgrade). If you are installing the
patch over a network connection, this directory will already be mounted.
(After running setup and before choosing Restart, use ALT-TAB to go to the
File Manager - then perform the copy operation.)

2. On the PC-Admin server, run the snaddpcs utility to add the
configuration information to the PC-Admin configuration files. (See
the instructions for upgrading a Windows client in the "PC-Admin 1.5
   Installation and Configuration Guide.")

3. On the PC, use ALT-TAB to return to the installation screen, and continue
with setup. When you restart the PC, it will use DHCP to provide its
   configuration information.

Extraneous Program Icons
------------------------

When PC-NFSpro 2.0 is installed over PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client,
you may find one or more orphaned icons in the PC-NFSpro program group. There is, for example, an icon for Remote Shell. Delete it by highlighting the icon, and choosing Delete from the File menu.
____________________________________________________________________

4. PC-ADMIN FEATURES
====================

After the patch files have been installed on PC-Admin servers and the
PC-NFSpro 2.0 clients, the PC user can run the application
(nfswpca.exe) that enables or disables the PC to operate with the
PC-Admin server.

Enabling PC-Admin Features
---------------------------

From the Advanced Settings pull-down menu in the PC-NFSpro 2.0
Configuration Program, choose PC-Admin....

A Window dialog box shows the state of the PC, whether it is running
with PC-Admin enabled or disabled. The dialog box has two option
buttons, "Enable PC-Admin Features" or "Disable PC-Admin Features." If
you choose "Enable PC-Admin Features," an application starts which
takes the following steps:

  - Renames the file nfswenv.ba- to nfswenv.bat. This batch
file is run at boot time to reserve sufficient client environment
space for the PC-Admin environment variables.

  - Checks the SHELL= line in the CONFIG.SYS file to be sure that
enough environment space has been allocated to the client, and if
    necessary, increases the allocated space.

  - Checks the LASTDRIVE= line in the CONFIG.SYS file and resets the
drive letter to "Z" if necessary.

  - Creates the PC-Admin program group on the client with icons for
Client Manager, User Manager, and On-line Help.

  - Adds the Change Password application to the PC-NFSpro program
    group.

After the PC-Admin features have been enabled, you must reboot the
PC.

Disabling PC-Admin Features
----------------------------

If you choose "Disable PC-Admin Features," an application starts which
takes the following steps:

  - Renames the file nfswenv.bat to nfswenv.ba-.

  - Deletes the PC-Admin program group.

  - Removes the Change Password application from the PC-NFSpro program
    group.

Changing Your Configuration
---------------------------

Whenever you change your PC-NFSpro configuration, you must first save the
configuration, and then explicitly enable or disable PC-Admin features.

To Change Your Configuration:

1. In the PC-NFSpro 2.0 Configuration program, open the new
   configuration file.

2. Select Save to make this your current configuration.

3. Choose Advanced Settings -> PC-Admin...

4. Select the appropriate button to enable or disable PC-Admin
   features, and choose OK.

5. Reboot your PC.

Using PC-NFSpro 2.0 with PC-Admin 1.5
-------------------------------------

Installing this patch and enabling PC-Admin enables these features:

  - When Windows is started, the client will receive configuration
    information through DHCP.

  - The boot.snc, login.snc, and logout.snc scripts will be executed
for the client. These scripts set up an environment that can be
customized for all PCs at your site.

  - A home directory is mounted for the user logging into the PC.

  - The configuration files that determine the user preferences are
accessed from the user's home directory. This feature can be
customized to locate these files on the PC's local hard drive.
See the following section, "SNC Scripts."

SNC Scripts
-------------

The SNC scripts in this patch are customized to provide a default
environment for the PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client. You can edit the
default scripts to create a site-specific environment, following the
instructions in the scripts. For more information about customizing
your environment, see the "PC-Admin 1.5 Administrator's Guide."

The PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client scripts differ from the PC-Admin 1.5
Windows client scripts in the following ways:

- BOOT.SNC

The SNLOCAL variable is set to contain the directory on the PC where
PC-NFSpro 2.0 was installed.

The per-user preference (user view) is set to support local
preferences. If the login fails or the home directory cannot be mounted
for any reason, the preferences will still be available locally.

The Q drive is not mounted; no server-based on-line documentation is provided
for this client. The documentation you received with PC-NFSpro 2.0 is still
appropriate for this client.

NOTE: The directions for mounting the Q drive to access PC-Admin 1.5
on-line books are in the section, "Making PC-Admin 1.5 On-Line Books
Accessible to PC-NFSpro 2.0 Clients," below.

-LOGIN.SNC

The changes in this script involve the way the managed client handles
the user view preferences. The User View Setup section is added to this
script, right after the section that mounts the home directory. The
administrator can edit this script to set the preference to either LOCAL
or HOME, or to delegate the choice to the PC user. As shipped, the script
sets the user view to HOME.

+ LOCAL means that the user preference files are stored on the hard
drive on the client PC. This might be appropriate when using a
computer that may be disconnected from the PC-Admin network; for
    example, when using a laptop.

+ HOME means that the user preference files are stored in the user's
    home directory on the server.

- LOGOUT.SNC

A section is added to this script to reset User View to LOCAL before
unmounting the home directory and logging out the user. The logout.snc
script runs whenever the user logs out using the Login/Logout
program.

5. ON-LINE BOOKS
================

The on-line books are not automatically installed on the client PC. You can
make the books available by mounting the Q drive and making the EBT browser
available to the client PC.

Installing the PC-NFSpro 2.0 On-line Books
------------------------------------------

Beginning on page 84, Chapter 3 in the "PC-NFSpro User's Guide" explains how
to install and use the on-line manuals for an independent client. Refer to
that information when following these steps for integrating the PC-NFSpro
on-line books into your PC-Admin 1.5 environment:

 1. Choose a PC-NFSpro 2.0 managed client from which to install the
    on-line books.

 2. On the server, make sure /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pc/pro and
/opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pc/pro/bin are writable by that client:

       share -F nfs -o rw=<client_name> /opt
       chmod o+w /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pc/pro /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pc/pro/bin

 3. On the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client, install both DynaText and the
on-line books from the CD ("full" installation) to S:\pro (on-line books
    are shipped on CD only).

Change the default installation directory by typing the path
(s:\pro) in the first dialog box that comes up after
    starting full.exe.

 4. Add the EBT browser and EBT Release Notes icons to the PC-Admin group
with the command line "S:\PRO\BIN\DTEXTRW.EXE" and working directory
    "S:\PRO\BIN."

Making PC-Admin 1.5 On-Line Books Accessible to PC-NFSpro 2.0 Clients
---------------------------------------------------------------------

These directions tell how to enable PC-NFSpro 2.0 clients to access the
PC-Admin 1.5 books. Only the Administrator's Guide will contain useful
information. The other books in this set are not appropriate for these
clients. For client documentation, the PC-NFSpro 2.0 user should consult
the PC-NFSpro 2.0 on-line books.

 1. Install the PC-NFSpro 2.0 on-line books as explained above.

 2. Change S:\PRO\BIN\DYNATEXT.INI so the line that reads

       COLLECTION=s:\pro\nfsw=PC-NFSpro;s:\pro\ebtdoc=Using DynaText

    now reads

       COLLECTION=s:\pro\nfsw=PC-NFSpro;s:\pro\ebtdoc=Using
       DynaText;q:\pcnet=PC-Admin

 3. Edit the boot.snc script to reserve the Q: drive. On the server, follow
    the directions in /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/site/pcnfspro/boot.snc.

Reading PC-NFSpro 2.0 On-Line Books on the Server
-------------------------------------------------

These directions assume that you have installed the SUNWtbesl package on your
server.

 1. Install the PC-NFSpro 2.0 on-line books as explained above.

 2. Run /opt/SUNWpcnet/bin/sndoc.

When sndoc starts, it checks an environment variable for the existence of a
configuration file. If it doesn't find one, it creates one in /tmp.

If sndoc starts with an EBTRC in /tmp (i.e., a line similar to

       Starting DynaText with EBTRC=/tmp/.ebtrc.nnnnn

appears among the start-up messages), continue with the next
step. Otherwise, skip to Step 4.

3. Before quitting sndoc, copy the EBTRC configuration file to ~/.ebtrc (to
    your home directory).

    For example, if the line

       Starting DynaText with EBTRC=/tmp/.ebtrc.21932

appears among the start-up messages, do this:

       cp /tmp/.ebtrc.21932 ~/.ebtrc

Then quit sndoc and restart it.

 4. Add the path to the PC-NFSpro 2.0 on-line book collection to EBTRC. You
can identify EBTRC by sndoc's start-up messages.

Add the following line to EBTRC:

       COLLECTION /opt/SUNWpcnet/2.0/pc/pro/nfsw=PC-NFSpro 2.0

 5. Quit sndoc and then restart it.

When sndoc starts again, it will include the PC-NFSpro 2.0 book collection.
_______________________________________________________________________

6. USER VIEWS
=============

By default, when the PC-NFSpro 2.0 client is first enabled, the
configuration and data files for the network applications are set up on
the home directory.

- If the preference files do not exist on the home directory, the
login.snc script will copy the template files from the local drive to
the home directory. In most cases, this means that no preferences
will be set in these files. The user may want to copy some preference
files from the local disk to the home directory. (See "Moving User View
  Information" in the following section.

- If the preference files already exist on the home directory, they are
  not overwritten.

- If the PC user has been operating as a managed client and then
becomes an independent client (for example if this client is a
laptop), the local settings will be unchanged from the last time the
PC was used as an independent client.

Moving User View Information
----------------------------

If your PC has been operating for some time either as a PC-NFSpro 2.0
client or as a PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client, you most likely have set up
configuration and data files that affect your network applications.
This section describes how to copy these user preferences from their
location on the PC hard disk to the home directory on the network.

NOTE: If upgrading from a PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client, you will find
that the location of the user preference files has changed from H:\ to
H:\pcadmin\. For the Windows client, the default location of the
Netscape preference files was C:\netscape. You may want to copy this
directory to H:\pcadmin\netscape.

Logging Out
-----------

Be careful to close any open network applications, such as E-Mail or News
Reader, before logging out of your PC. Should another user log into your PC
and subsequently close the application, your files and preferences will be
written to the other user's home directory.

Table of Preference and Configuration Files
-------------------------------------------

The following table lists the applications and services that are
affected by moving the location of the user view between LOCAL and
HOME.

  - The table lists the location of the preference files for an independent
client (LOCAL View) and for a managed client (HOME View).

  - "PRO" is used to signify the installation directory of the
PC-NFSpro 2.0 client. By default, this is C:\SOLARNET for a new
installation or C:\PCNFSPRO for an upgrade from an earlier version
of PC-NFSpro or from the PC-Admin 1.5 Windows client.

  - For the files sunwapps.ini and pcnfswin.ini, the
following indented lines denote the sections in those files where
     preferences are entered.

  - The section following the table describes these files and entries
     in more detail.

             the section LprAppQOptions.

Netscape
--------
Netscape stores its configuration files in the netscape
directory. If upgrading from a PC-Admin 1.5 client, this directory
might be in C:\netscape. The Netscape entry in C:\windows\win.ini
lists the location of the netscape configuration files.

	netscape.ini contains user preferences
netscape.hst contains a history of netscape connections.
	bookmark.htm contains bookmarks.

News files are listed in the subdirectory, news.

           - Network printers to be remounted on login are listed in the
             section <user>.Network.

	   - Printers that were previously mounted are listed in the
	     section <user>.PrintersPrevious.

Pronto E-mail
------------
Pronto E-mail uses a directory subtree to contain both preference
configuration files and actual mail folders. The environment
variable, PRONDIR, is set to the pathname of the directory subtree.
The independent client uses the directory where the application was
	installed.

When Pronto E-mail is first set up as a MAPI server, the preference
and configuration information is written to local system files. Any
subsequent users will find Pronto E-Mail using the preferences of the
user who initiated the MAPI server. Also, since the information is
written locally, if the original user moves to another machine, MAPI
	may not be configured.

If your PC has been operating as a PC-NFSpro 2.0 independent client
and becomes a managed client, a new set of empty folders is installed
into the user's home directory on the network. The user's original
mail folders are still on the local PC in the directory C:\PRO\mail
(where PRO is the name of the PC-NFSpro installation directory). To
retrieve the user's original folders, copy everything under
c:\PRO\mail\ (except for DLLs and executables) to h:/pcadmin/mail.
This will overwrite the default directories with the user's original
mail directories (folders). When the user starts Pronto E-Mail as a
PC-Admin client, all of the original folders are available over the
	network.

Remote Command
--------------
	sunwapps.ini

	   - Preferences are listed in the rshrexec section.
	   - Previously connected remote hosts are listed in the rshrexec.Hosts
             section.

Telnet
------
Telnet uses six configuration files, which are in the telnet
	directory: settings.cnf, settings.dsk, keymap.ini, mouse.ini,
phone.ini and toolbar.ini. The file phone.ini is not copied to the
home directory. This can be done by the user.

Text Converter
--------------
	sunwapps.ini

	   - Preferences are listed in the section d2u2d.
