Problem Description:

When PC-NFS 5.0 is combined with Windows for Workgroups and some
Ethernet adapters using NDIS, the Ethernet adapter fails initial
boot. This problem occurs with all SMC Ethernet adapters, 3Com
    3C509 adapters and others.

Patch Installation Instructions:

************** IMPORTANT NOTE TO SMC ADAPTER USERS ********************

This patch does not work with the SMCMAC.DOS MAC-NDIS driver
that ships with PC-NFS. You will need to obtain a copy of
the newer SMC8000.DOS MAC-NDIS driver from SMC.

   ***********************************************************************

This patch consists of one file: NFS-NDIS.SYS. On the system where
PC-NFS is installed save the existing NFS-NDIS.SYS file and replace
it with the new NFS-NDIS.SYS file.

Select the drive where PC-NFS is installed.

        C:

   Save the original NFS-NDIS.SYS file.

        COPY \LANMAN\NFS-NDIS.SYS \LANMAN\NFS-NDIS.FCS

Install the new NFS-NDIS.SYS file in the NFS directory.

        COPY A:\NFS-NDIS.SYS \LANMAN\NFS-NDIS.SYS

All drive letter and directory name references are PC-NFS defaults.
If you have installed PC-NFS or the patch file on a different drive
or in a different directory substitute your drive and directory names
   in the example commands.
