FOR MACINTOSH OS: THESE ARE NOT THE CORRECT UPDATE FILES FOR 
THE MACINTOSH VERSION OF ENCARTA 96 ENCYCLOPEDIA! THE CORRECT
UPDATE FILES ARE LOCATED IN THE US DIRECTORY.

This directory contains files that are used with the Microsoft(r) 
Encarta(r) 96 Encyclopedia CD-ROM, World English Edition. (The 
North American English versions of these files, for copies of 
Encarta sold in the United States and Canada, are in the ..\US directory.) 

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Error occurs during article integration:
If an error occurs after you click the Integrate button in Yearbook 
Builder, download the update installment (the .eyb file) again and 
click on Integrate in Yearbook Builder again. 


Cannot Integrate Yearbook Builder Files:
Some users are consistently experiencing problems during file 
downloads that result in the corruption of the .eyb file, causing 
Encarta to display a message during integration that says the 
files are the wrong version. The error actually occurs because 
the file is corrupt. If the .eyb file you downloaded ends in 
'95z.eyb', then it is the correct version for the World English 
version of Encarta. 

These download problems are not occurring within Encarta but rather 
during the download process itself. We are working to determine the 
source of the problems and will post new information to this file 
when the problem is resolved. In the interim, we have found that 
most users are able to work around this problem by downloading the 
Yearbook Builder files as self-extracting executable files instead of in
their original .eyb format. If you cannot successfully integrate 
.eyb files, check the Encarta\PSS\WorldEng directory for more 
information and for the files in .exe format.

DOWNLOADING YEARBOOK BUILDER UPDATES
The following downloading instructions are specific to two popular 
browsing applications.

Note: If an error occurs after you click the Integrate button in the 
Yearbook Builder feature, download the update installment (the .eyb 
file) again and click on Integrate in Yearbook Builder again. 

To download updates using SPRY Mosaic (CompuServe edition):
1.	Click the file you wish to download.
2.	In the dialog box that appears, click Yes. The downloading 
	process begins and will take several minutes.
3.	When the downloading process is complete, select Save from 
	the File menu. Save the file to your Yearbook directory.
4.	In Encarta Encyclopedia, open the Yearbook Builder feature 
	and click the Add New Months button.
5.	Click the Integrate button and follow the instructions that 
	appear on the screen.

To download updates using Netscape:
1.	Click the file you wish to download. The downloading process 
	begins and will take several minutes (about 10 minutes at 9600 
	bps modem speed).
2.	When the downloading process is complete, select Save from the 
	File menu. Save the file to your Yearbook directory.
3.	In Encarta Encyclopedia, open the Yearbook Builder feature and 
	click the Add New Months button.
4.	Click the Integrate button and follow the instructions that 
	appear on the screen.
