SYMPTOMS
========

In German Word 97, when you save a document in Word 6.0/95 format and the
document contains smart quotation marks, the smart quotation marks appear as
English smart quotation marks when you reopen the document.


RESOLUTION
==========

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem described in this article and should be applied only to
systems experiencing this specific problem.
