ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for DEC OSF/1 Version 2.0 through 3.2C.  This kit 
addresses the following problem: 

       A potential security vulnerability has been identified with 
       DEC OSF/1 V2.0 through 3.2C using telnetd. This potential
       vulnerability may allow authorized users to gain unauthorized 
       privileges. This kit, containing new binaries, corrects this problem.
  

INSTALLATION NOTES:

  As superuser:
	Save the original file, /usr/sbin/telnetd
	Copy the new telnetd into /usr/sbin/telnetd

  Kill any existing telnetd processes:
 	# ps ax |grep telnetd
	# kill each_telnetd_pid

  Send -HUP signal to inetd:
	# ps ax | grep inetd
	# kill -HUP inet_pid
