VOODOO 3 UPDATE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Follow these instructions to add Glide Voodoo 3 support to Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit. Need for Speed III Hot Pursuit must already be installed before proceeding. 1) Locate and open the folder that you extracted "NFS3_Update.zip" to. 2) Double-click "3ddata.exe". Though it appears that nothing happens, this is an essential step to the process. 3) Right-click the "3ddata.dat" file and choose Copy. 4) Open the Need For Speed III folder on your hard drive ("C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed III" is the default installation path). 5) Right-click the "3dSetup" folder and select Paste. The Confirm File Replace window will appear. Click Yes to replace the old file with the updated one. 6) Re-open the folder that you extracted NFS3_Update.zip to. 7) Right click the "voodoo2a.dll" file and choose Copy. 8) Re-open the Need For Speed III folder ("C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed III" is the default installation path). From the Edit menu, select Paste to replace the old file with the updated one. 9) Close all windows. Click Start > Electronic Arts > Need for Speed III > 3D Device Setup. Select 3dfx Voodoo3 as the 3D Graphics Renderer. NOTE: If 3Dfx Voodoo3 appears twice amongst the 3D Graphics Renderer choices, it is because the first utilizes Glide and the second utilizes Direct3D. Either choice should work well with Need For Speed III. 10) Launch Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit. 11) Enjoy!
